- Alzheimer's and World Alzheimer's Day |
|
Every 71 Seconds Someone
Develops Alzheimer's.
World Alzheimer's Day
is celebrated in September 21st of
each year, is a day on which Alzheimer's organizations
around the world concentrate their efforts on raising
awareness about Alzheimer's and dementia.
Due to lack of awareness of AD, most patients / family
members tend to ignore the symptoms of the disease
as a normal part of the aging process.

Creating
mass awareness about this tragic condition can help
detect Alzheimer’s at an early stage and provide
appropriate treatment, support and care for patients.
Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia,
a group of disorders that impairs mental functioning.
At the moment, Alzheimer's is progressive and irreversible.
Each year a theme is selected and prepares and distributes
promotional materials to the member Alzheimer
associations, other organisations and individuals
around the world. The day is also used as an opportunity
to launch new research and products to help improve
the quality of life for people with dementia.
